A Little Bit Of Sunshine And Warmth

We had a snowstorm yesterday.  It wasn't suppose to be much but it was enough to chill me to the bones and make St. Maarten a distant memory.  I thought perhaps some of you might need a bit of a snuggle and some warmth and sunshine where you are, so, I brought St. Maarten to you and me...Sit back and enjoy the flight...and feel the warmth...and get in the summer SPIRIT.  Some things you'll see on the Island...more to come later.

There now, aren't you feeling warmer already.  Spring will be here before you know it but sorry to say it will never be as warm here as it is in the Caribbean.  It's what makes it unique.

I only brought one camera this time..3 lenses.  The camera was my little Fuji X-E2.  I also bought a new 60mm macro lens to bring along with me.  Sorry to say, I only used it one an that was for the last two flowers that you see.  All the other photo's were taken with the 18-135.  This camera is small, light weight and very easy to carry around.  I do love my Canon camera's and lenses but honestly, the weight on a long trip is to much.  So with a bit more practice here, I'm going to love taking Fuji for long walks.  The Fuji color is amazing.  Just like the old film that we all used to use.

Thanks for stopping by.  It's always such a pleasure to see you here.

Well the colors alone make me feel warm! The pretty rocks in the sand are beautiful...I'd frame that one or print on cards...along with the flower ones. Glad you had a nice time and got some pretty pics to add to your memory collection.

Sorry you had to return to snow but then again it made your trip that much nicer and a wonderful memory. Lovey memories indeed and nothing like that blue water in the Caribbean.

My last attempt at a comment got gobbled up by slow wifi -- drat -- so I'm trying again. I love this post so much. I love that you are showing your experience in al its variety -- through wide landscape shots that really give us the overall feel of the beauty of the place and then the intimate vignettes with people, which are so lively and colourful and then all the detail shots like that gorgeous window and the yummy drink and the flowers. I love that you experimented with blur -- that plane shot is superb. And of course I adore the tall ship and the shot with the catamarans. Heavens, these are all winners. But of course, the boys are always my favourite and number three really made me smile. I am seriously impressed with your Fuji. It does a fabulous job of capturing your vision. Aren't we just so lucky these days that we have so much choice in what we use to make images? The big, the medium and the small…We can choose the tool that works best for us and for the time. Hope your weather will warm up more as spring approaches. We may finally be getting our weather window to go to the Bahamas…let's hope. I am pining for that turquoise water.

Thank you for taking me on vacation today! Such a beautiful clear blue ocean...the kind you can only find in the Caribbean. :) You warmed my heart with all the beautiful colors: the flowers, ocean, umbrellas and the drink. My daughter loves the colorful houses and says she is going to paint her house purple so it isn't boring like the other houses in Ohio. I am hoping she thinks resale value when she get older. :)

Lovely photos. We're headed out on a month long trip and I specifically went out and bought a tiny lightweight camera so I wouldn't have to carry around my big DSLR nor any lenses. Not sure what sort of quality I'll get but I'm sure they'll be more than fine. I sure do remember the old Fuji film and you're so right about how these images do certainly compare to the old Fuji film!

Thank you all for your visit. I hope you felt some of the warmth that was there on the Island of St. Maarten. Sure wish I could have taken you all with me...now that would have been some retreat for sure...

Welcome Diane...so nice to have you visit...You will love taking a little camera along with you. I thought the Fuji worked out perfectly and it was just so light to carry around...a month sounds heavenly. Enjoy your trip. I'll look forward to seeing your photo's when you return.
