Autumn...Magic Hour
Posted on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 09:44AM
Use what you have, use what the world gives you. Use the first day of fall: bright flame before winter's deadness; harvest; orange, gold, amber; cool nights and the smell of fire. Our tree-lined streets are set ablaze, our kitchens filled with the smells of nostalgia: apples bubbling into sauce, roasting squash, cinnamon, nutmeg, cider, warmth itself. The leaves as they spark into wild color just before they die are the world's oldest performance art, and everything we see is celebrating one last violently hued hurrah before the black and white silence of winter.

So lovely! Beautiful dappled light and gorgeous fall colors.
Thank you Sheila...it was a beautiful day. We are just starting to get our color now.
Beautiful foliage
Oh so beautiful Cheryl!! A blanket spread on the ground with a picnic basket and hot chocolate sure sounds like a way to enjoy this lovely place. I love the golden color of sun hanging lower in the sky, spreading warmth on the earth for a few more days. Love your poetry!
Well, Cheryl, I have to say ... the world gave you some grand beauty to feast upon. Thanks for sharing this beauty with us.

That's exactly what I love about fall. Such a perfect representation!
LOVE everything about this! My favorite time of year and you've captured it so perfectly here in this golden light! The Neiquist quote is perfect for this post!
such a beautiful autumn setting. Definitely something to celebrate. Thank you for sharing
I have to agree with all the others -- plus that is a damn fine quote you picked! Sometimes the right image and the right quote are all you need!
Stunning. It makes me want to sit there for a while and soak it up.
A beautiful quote and a beautiful image to go with it...
Lovely image, but I love your previous post about the shoes even more!!! I'm still laughing.
You really are doing an amazing job with this blog and catching all the moments perfectly, wishing you lots of love and peace but I don't think you need it. You have that covered, a nice spot to be. ...you're definitely the master of your own domain. P.S I came here because Flickr wouldn't let me comment or fave!
