Garden Meditation

I have been so fortunate to spend time in the garden this summer...Our weather here has produced some lovely flowers...enough of everything, sunshine, warm days and rain...lots of rain this week...Maine seems to be have more than the average number of quirky gardens...and this one is from my favorite shop...Bittersweet Barn, is just the coolest shop...a blend of new, old, consignment and hand crafted..but for photography, the garden out back, is a work of art...I don't have a green thumb and I certainly cannot craft a garden that just makes one stop in their tracks and say..."how did she think to do that".  In some ways it is very much like still Life photography...making pretty scenes by knowing how to blend your props...and this lady loves to have you come and visit and take as many photo's as you like...I have been known to get lost in her shop and gardens for hours on a Saturday afternoon...now if she only served tea...

Linking up to Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday...used KK..simplicity at soft light...38% opacity...

“Within you there is a stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at anytime and be yourself.” ~Hermann Hesse

I thought this was your back yard Cheryl...well it is just beautiful and it is really nice that she shares it with everyone, no restrictions on photographing! Sitting and meditating here would definitely lower my bp!! LOL Thank you for sharing, and I hope you found some fun things to buy from her. xx

hi Cheryl, what a beautiful setting to take photos ... lucky you! Love your photo ... looks like a shop I would love to come visit!

Oh my, thank you all for coming to the garden...I am so glad I stopped by here because for some reason Squarespace did not notify me of your presence and I would have felt so sad to let time go by without acknowledging your wonderful and bright garden comments...now, another thing to check......LOl
I wished I could take credit for setting this up but I didn't...what I will take credit for though is knowing that it was a great still life summer photo...and with a touch of Kim's texture it has turned into one of my favorite photo's because of the color combination...
@Beverly you really can stay as long as you want...it is quiet and she does have benches and chairs...and oh my, do I ever buy things there...that weekend she was having a yard sale...20.00 tea towels for 2.00..I got a bunch of those and scarves for 5.00...so much more..someday I'll take you there along with
@Viv when she comes to visit...I would so love to spend time with you in the garden...
@Stacie we could have a little book group meeting there...so much fun..reading surrounded by beauty..it doesn't get much better than that and I know
@Sarah would come to that...no worries Sarah...the set-ups are there and when Ipost again from that collection I'll let you all know, and of course the barn,
@Barbara...we could all get lost in there..an old building with slanted flowers, beautiful props and gifts for our selves..and free tastings of Maine products.
@Nancyjean please join us...what a wonderful day in the garden it would be if you lovelies ever end up my way...perhaps a mini retreat for us..in the Garden
@Kim..you would come of course and for you, a lovely bench, some meditation and the sun shinning on your face...filling you with peace and love..from us.

On a whim, I came over here, hoping to find some of Maine!
For some reason, I'm not getting notice of your posts . . .
and I rarely stray far from flickr. I LOVE this, Cheryl.
WISH I could have been with you at the time of capture.
I am soooo happy you are relaxing in Maine.
Lucky YOU.
Wish we could just hop up there!
But we're biding our time until September!
Much love all around.

Everyone has a garden of love, not all of them are made up of flowers, yours are made up of friends and family :)

Antoinette soon you to will be in Maine. It was lovely in Portland yesterday but your shots are much better than mine. For some reason I'm having trouble with my subscriptions. I am hoping to have it fixed soon. Thanks for checking up on me.
